GOSSIP BOYST.V shows like Sex and the City, Lipstick Jungle and the O.C showcased an assortment of women wearing killer outfits from a seemingly endless wardrobe. But what we
haven't seen in T.V (excluding Queer Eye for the Straight guy) is the well-dressed man.
Forget Metrosexual for a minute, assume all men are in touch with their moisturising selves and go for regular hair treatments, train regularly at the gym etc. Now why, in a world with Fashion as accessible as it is and as varied as it has ever been, do we still find men on the streets, and on our screens wearing the t-shirt and baggy shorts combo?
What is more and more evident in our society is that men want in on the action. Gossip Girl from the CW has done just that. Their efforts appear in the form of Chase Crawford and Ed Westwick, the latter of the two who is far more out-there in his dress sense, but who is very comfortable wearing three piece suits and the cravat. Note that these boys are all straight both in real life and on tv and remain masculine whilst remaining very stylish.
Our November
Hipster Nod goes to the Boys of Gossip Girl.
