In this first look at Stiaan Louw’s sixth and most defining collection, “6”  with it's Middle Eastern, ancient Greek, Indian and Massai influence help to redefine the idea of an African aesthetic. This collection is about blending these different styles. Within the campaign Stiaan has elected four photographers to interpret the four components of the collection however they see it. The model, Eric Bester is the new face of Stiaan Louw and will appear in each component following the release of '6', featuring garments reminiscent of the Mesopotamian ideal.

Red Carpet Round-up

I am seriously coveting this beautiful jacket. One buttoned, Slim two-toned lapel, relaxed white shirt opened to reveal a single piece of jewelry. Fantastic look. Perhaps the only worrying detail is I'm sure he's wearing silver nail polish?
Don't quote me on this, but I would bet money on the fact that Robert is wearing Lanvin. All the usual suspects are there, high-tops, tinted lenses and a three piece suit. I'm a little bored with Susan's look but I suppose it was inevitable that a man outdress his wife at some point.
I like the look of a clean cut man. Anderson Cooper doesn't do flashy or eccentric, which is 100%. Instead he goes with what he knows, and what works, like this great fitting suit!
Ah Mark Ruffalo! At the 54th BFI London Film Festival the actor walked the red carpet in his favorite choice: Neil Barrett. This slightly unstructured blue suit is a great colour for him and I love the creased fabric. This is how couples should walk the red-carpet from now on!
Bearded, deranged and murderous, romantic and scruffy. Anything works for Mr. Cruz Javier Bardem. He's not a fashionisto which makes it all the better that he kept it simple. And he looks healthy and fresh-faced. It's the perfect accessory.

Marco: He has the makings of someone to loathe. You know, charm, good looks, talent and the perfect beard. I should be jealous of him but alas am too busy taking cues from you Robyn, by imagining our bro-dates wherein I am doing something outdoorsy. But before that may I just commend Jake on his effortless and relaxed styling. I actually prefer it sans accessory. Modern fit, great shoes and no fuss. Easy enough to follow, eh boys?
Robyn: Sooooo, Jake and Taylor, eh? Why does that make me feel a teeny tiny bit grubby? So in a week where JAYLOR sightings seem to keep coming, you post a picture of Jake and ask me to comment on his style. Blonde, perchance? Oh, you mean the clothes. Well, he looks jolly nice in his suit. Sleek and simple. I like it.
Robyn: Now this is the cat-woman style we know and love. YSL red silk asymmetric drapery. You absolutely can not fault it. As I said on my blog last week, she is an alien life form, such is her perfection. Done.
Marco: Is it possible that she looks more beautiful now than when she donned this look the first time? I prefer the darker hair too, it's a mature version of her former self without making it look any less sexy. 'Meow' if there ever was a reason to say it. She really is knocking them back these days with her outfits. Gold dress anyone? Yes okay, i'll go see your movie.

Justin Timberlake hits all the right fashion notes

Who says you can't be a nerd and look good? I'm really enjoying the premiere shots of Timberlake, Garfield and Eisenberg for their new movie 'The Social Network'. Justin in particular has proven he may know a little something about his fashion endeavors. He has been photographed wearing Collection Premiere de Cartier glasses and a trilby that somehow makes him look bald rather than chic. His ensemble which is made up of a navy two-button peak lapel suit, striped shirt and tie, is all by Simon Spurr.

While Jesse Eisenberg and that other guy look dashing in their suits it's not surprising Garfield and Timberlake stand out. The latter certainly should know what he's doing by now, and it seems the singer turned producer turned actor turned spokesmodel turned director turned fashion designer may finally have found himself a comfortable home in fashion. He certainly is trying hard enough to make us notice. Prior to this I often felt his braver attempts were contrived. Not so anymore.

When Steve interviewed Ryan

With stellar acting chops and a long list of successful movies, you would be forgiven to assume that Ryan Gosling would be recognized on the street. But in a new interview by Steve Carell, for Interview magazine, 'The Notebook' actor confessed he is more often confused for Ryan Reynolds.

"I get that a lot. I do think it's because we're both Canadian," he told Interview magazine.

"I can't tell you how many times people go, 'Are you Ryan?' And I go, 'Yeah.' And they say, 'Can I get a picture?' Then they take the picture and realise, in that moment, that I'm not Ryan Reynolds. I can see the disappointment in their faces."

STEVE CARELL: This is so intimate.
RYAN GOSLING: [whispers] Steve.
CARELL: [whispers] Ryan.
GOSLING: Thanks so much for doing this. You know, I don’t know if I’ve ever actually felt compelled to tell the truth in an interview. But now that it’s you doing the interviewing, I feel like I can’t make stuff up, because you’re a truth-seeker.
CARELL: I would actually like to begin this by saying that I want you to lie to me. If you feel uncomfortable at any point during this interview, please make up a story that has no bearing on your actual life. That’s what I do, and it seems to work well.

Jacket: Burberry Prorsum, Sweater and Tank: by Dolce & Gabbana

Jak&Jil do what they do best and snap up really well dressed people on the street, like Nickelson Wooster! If you didn't read the exclusive interview I did with him not so long ago, you can take a look here now. I really love this camo blazer and tie combo. And, it appears, that backpacks are making their way in again?

Rick Day photographs our boys Bryce and Cobus

If you Google 'Rick Day' you may be surprised to find images of anything but Rick Day himself. The highly sought after photographer has quite the catalog of good-looking young men. It wasn't long before he decided to add a couple of our very own boys to his list of near naked models.

Cobus Jonker who is currently modeling in New York, was recently shot by Rick Day sporting super tiny underwear against a black backdrop.

For all you curious types (I know you're out there) you can click on this link to see the uncensored version.

Gucci Cruise 2011

Gucci releases another glossy campaign for Gucci cruise 2011. A little same-same for my liking but yet shooting in front of their own billboard is quite clever. You may know that this is Nikola Jovanovic's third Gucci campaign, this time joined by Raquel Zimmermann and photographed by Mert & Marcus.

The styling really is fantastic, natural tones and easily wearable combinations. Note how there is no brand overkill. One logo is enough to carry the statement that you can afford it.

As you may recall, I won this prize at the Fornarina launch that would have me and 25 of my guests enjoying a whisky tasting. When planning this little event started I realized it coincided with the 2nd Anniversary of this blog. Of course this then made me think it would be the perfect occasion to assemble some of my people and make a night of it.

Located at the luxurious 15 on Orange hotel, Brandhouse set up all the treats and the array of whisky we were about to taste, while the (please excuse me when I steal their slogan) mucking afazing Daniella of Charly’s Bakery provided the cake!

My lovely guests, which include Model Minute interviewee Warren McAslan, Kelly Gray of Burberry and Ian Martin of New Media publishing enjoyed the whisky while some of the less stout drinkers got to learn the fascinating history behind it.

It was a lovely occasion and I am grateful to have passed this, the second year in my blogs existence. I extend my genuine thanks and appreciation to my old and new readers for their continued support as well as Jody from Brandhouse and Daniella from Charley's Bakery.

ROBYN: I must be honest. My affection for the Minster has flip flopped terribly over the years. Until I sort-of forgot about her. But what a great way to jog my pathetically old memory - a turquoise Marchesa Grecian draped gown. Love the neck-piece detailing. And the soft silk. And the weird belty things. It just all works together. Lovely.

MARCO: Ooh yes, I remember her. Wasn't she on Will & Grace? This dress is fantastic and that shade of blue is electric against the red carpet. But not convinced of the hair. Is it cropped or are those dangly bits? Pleased that she kept the accessories simple. Good way to remind people you're still around, lady!

MARCO: He looks a little, okay a lot like a Burberry model but that is all the more reason to love this guy. He's British and stylish, a great young actor and he's Spiderman! Those Blue soled shoes would be a great addition to any look if you don't have broody eyes and hair that swoops.

ROBYN: This is a chap with HAIR. I mean, it goes out there and makes a statement all of its own. It is a wondrous spectacle. But also I like how he has played with tones in the deeper end of the spectrum (greys, black, brown), without trying to be matchy-matchy. I do so like that in a style.

Incase you live under a rock you should know that blogger preferred news source Seth Rotherham picked up the award for 'Best Dressed'. GQs choice of the year takes the crown from last years winner Jon-Paul Bolus of Blue Blood and Loading Bay in Cape Town. Of course, when asked who his personal choice for best dressed was, he selected none other than Randall Abrahams.

Glee cast cover GQ

A very smug Cory Monteith looks on as he gropes fellow Glee co-stars in a cover shoot for GQ this month. Of course it make sense that Terry Richardson should be nearby to assist Lea Michele with the next step in her world domination: Sex up your image. Although she threw herself into this new role it was sweet Dianna Agron that kept it classy.
You can take a look at the other racy images here.

Cheers to 100
