Season's, as they apply to the fashion world don't always apply to South Africa. Which oddly enough helps with the delay for certain styles to come in. They work mid-Winter on a hot day when you want to live in denial of the weather to come. Running out the door it's often hard to enforce your sartorial standards. So what shoes do you throw on? I love my Haviana's. I realize that they aren't high-fashion but I'm a South African boy at heart and since I'm from Knysna originally it's a wonder I wear shoes at all. Errands and what-not are perfect occasions for this.
Coffee dates, mall runs, etc. call for proper shoes. Boat Shoes, Loafers and Espadrilles are the shoes you wear when you don't want to wear shoes. Dolce and Gabbana in their latest range revealed large checked printed Espadrilles on their models.
These shoes are part of Ninon's men's summer collection. Available every Saturday at the Woodstock neighbour goods market in the design tent from 9h00-14h00. These are all limited editions. Fabric and leather swatches at her stall are available for personalized styles, you can come and choose your own colour combinations! More from Ninon available at her blog!
And this dear friends, as photographed by The Sartorialist is how you wear them!
